What are specialty rentals?
We specialize in rentals that are eclectic, vintage, modern, and one-of-a-kind for people who want something different for their wedding or event! Our curated collection allows you to customize your event so that it’s reflective of you and transforms your event space to create an experience designed for your guests.
Where do you find all these rentals?
Everywhere and anywhere! The collection is truly that – a collection of vintage and new furniture and decor items we’ve collected from a variety of sources, including but not limited to, antique and thrift shops, garage sales, Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, our friendor Retro Rescuers, Target, Ebay, and Wayfair. We’re always browsing to try to find interesting and unique pieces to add to the rentals collection!
Can I see the collection in-person?
Sure! Our collection is available to view by appointment only. Contact us to set-up your appointment.
Is there a rental order minimum?
Our rental order minimum for deliveries within 25 miles of our storage facility in 48150 is $250. This does not include the delivery fee. Outside of this area, the rental order minimum is $500.
Can I use your rentals for my workshop, conference, or styled shoot?
Let’s chat! We appreciate collaboration and the time, energy, and costs that go into planning workshops, conferences, and styled shoots. We offer sponsorships and/or discounts for a limited number of these types of events per year. This ensures all of our clients continue to receive our attention and best service.
Can I use the rentals outside?
That depends on the weather! We allow our rentals to be used outside if there is no rain, snow, or otherwise wet weather on the event day. All outdoor events should have a rain plan so that you can still enjoy your rentals without the worry of damaging them or having to pay for cleaning or repairs!
Where do you deliver?
Most of our events happen in Detroit, Ann Arbor, and their surrounding areas – basically, southeast Michigan! For events outside these areas, email us and we’ll see what we can do for you!
How does delivery, set-up, and pick-up work?
We offer the Modernly Production Service to cover all your rental logistics needs for getting your rentals to and from your venue on time and in good condition. The fee for this service is based on a variety of factors and custom-quoted for your event.
What does the Modernly Production Service Include?
The Modernly Production Service is an all-inclusive service fee that includes the following services:
- Time and labor to pull the rental order and load and unload all rental items at our warehouse.
- Cleaning and minor repairs of your rentals before and after your event date to ensure everything is looking its very best! Over the course of an event, we expect our rentals to be used by you and your guests and experience normal wear and tear or need cleaning.
- Delivery, set-up, and pick-up of your rentals by our delivery crew on your event date at your venue. This may include, but is not limited to, box truck rental fees based on the size of your order, mileage, gas, the number of round-trips between your venue and our warehouse, delivery crew labor, the allotted set-up and pick-up timeframes, the venue layout and ease of delivery, and any other factors that may affect delivery and set-up.
Can I pick-up my rental order using my own vehicle?
Will-call pick-up and return is allowed on a case-by-case basis. Typically, will-call is allowed only for our small rentals collection or smaller furniture items, such as side tables or bar carts. All large furniture must be delivered by our design + delivery crew who are experienced in furniture Tetris and safely transporting these often fragile items. All will-call orders must be transported in a covered vehicle with adequate space for the rental order.
Can I make changes to my order after booking?
Yes! We totally understand that sometimes plans and guest counts change from the time you originally booked to the event date. You can update your rental order up to 14 days before your date, but no less than the amount paid to book the order.
When do I make the final payment?
We’ll be in touch 14 days before your event date to confirm the final delivery and timeline details. We’ll also provide your remaining rental order balance to collect the final payment. The remaining balance will reflect any additions that have been made since the initial booking.
Oh no! We've damaged a rental beyond repair - now what?
Accidents happen, especially when the party really gets going! If a rental item is returned to us damaged beyond repair or requires professional cleaning, the damage will be assessed by our team who will decide if the item needs to be replaced. All damages will be photographed. The cost of replacement or professional cleaning will be billed to the client.
